Davao Toy Convention at Gaisano Mall
It's supposed to be my rest day yesterday. But with the sun way high up in the sky, flaunting its oh-so-high and mighty hot rays plus its ally the rotating brownout, a guy can't do anything but concede. So to get a little bit of R&R I decided to go to the mall.Lo and behold! A million of people has flooded the premises, but for what reason? I didn't have the slightest idea. Perhaps they also wanted to escape the tandem of sun + brownout. My question was answered however when I reached the center area of the mall. There was a toy convention showcasing items from Davao toy collectors.
Although not really a toy enthusiast, I am a huge fan of anime, manga, and comics. I found myself trapped and entangled in the toy convention for a number of hours in awe of my favorite characters being tangible and some almost even lifelike.
Aside from the toys, there was also a cosplay... or at least a taste of what was coming this saturday. There was a couple of girls who played a character from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and Death Note.
The full blast contest for the cosplay will be this coming saturday. Hopefully I will be there to witness this event.
